Dominik Kaiser, the man who helped with all the promotions, played through four divisions for Leipzig during his six years there. He joined from Hoffenheim in 2012 for the Regionalliga, helped the club up to the 3. Liga and then to the 2. Bundesliga, was named Third-Division Player of the Year, became captain, and in 2016 finally reached the Bundesliga. In the very first Bundesliga match he scored the club’s first top-flight goal.
